What is Driving Score?

What does it mean?

ZUS calculates cumulative weekly and monthly scores for each trip. A trip is calculated from the time you start driving to the time you turn off your engine. The Driving Score is calculated based on factors including hard brakes, nighttime driving and speeding distance*. And the Driving Score shows you the calculation for each trip – from the time the engine starts to when it stops.

• Hard Brakes
  • Your vehicle speed decreased by over 7 mph in one second.
• Night Driving
  • Drive between 10 pm and 5 am.
• Speeding Distance
  • Distance driven at a speed larger than 80 mph (128 km/h).

What can it do?

The score for each trip, which is out of 100, will vary depending upon how you drive and your driving conditions, so it can help you analyze your driving. For example, if you are driving in heavy traffic, you would have a lower score compared to driving on an open road because, in heavy traffic, you are likely to have more idle time and hard braking.

What is the difference among all types of scores?

The score for a single trip: When a trip is recorded, ZUS will calculate its score from a lot of aspects, including time, distance, speed, hard brakes and more. But sometimes, some trips might not have a score.

Overall score: Your overall score is a cumulative number, calculated from the time you enroll in ZUS until the last trip ended. The longer you drive, the less impact each trip will have on the overall score.

Weekly score: The weekly score is calculated on a rolling seven-day period. It represents the score for the previous seven days starting from the last trip. 

Monthly score: The monthly score is a cumulative number, calculated using a rolling 30-day period. It represents the score for the previous 30 days starting from your last trip.
