How do I install the ZUS Vehicle Health Monitor Mini?

Download the ZUS Smart Driving Assistant App to pair the ZUS Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Mini/Lite.

Install Your OBD II Diagnostic Scanner

After signing up, please plug the device in your OBD-II port. 

The OBD-II port is usually located under the dashboard, beneath the steering wheel column (1-3 in the diagram below). If it is not located beneath the steering wheel column, look for the port in the areas indicated by numbers 4-9.

Pair Your Device with the ZUS App

The Key Points of Pairing

1. Turn on GPS+Bluetooth+Internet on your phone.
2. Pair the device with the ZUS app. DO NOT pair ZUS devices in the phone's Bluetooth list!

Tap the car icon on the top left corner > Go to the Vehicle Settings page > Select "ZUS Vehicle Health Monitor Mini" > Complete the car information or skip > Start paring

Make sure the engine is on then click "Pair Now" to start pairing. 

*One device can be linked with only one car profile. If you wish to use the device to monitor another car, you need to create another vehicle profile under your ZUS account and go through the pairing process again.

Important Note Before Using

We strongly suggest you open the ZUS app and keep your device connected before using it.
*For Android users, make sure you allow the ZUS App to run in the background, otherwise, it will be recycled by your phone’s operating system. If you don't know how to configure this on your phone, please refer to:

Key Features of  ZUS Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Mini 

Pro Dashboard, EzzySaver Dashboard & Tiles Dashboard

Tap on “Dashboard”. You can swipe to the left to choose between the three different dashboards we offer on the ZUS App.

Pro Dashboard: Gives you a more intuitive view of your car's basic parameters such as Speed, Rev, Coolant and etc.

EzzySaver Dashboard: The dashboard reminder will turn red either when your vehicle is in high Revs and speeding or you are accelerating or braking hard, acting as a reminder to develop better driving behavior. 

Tiles Dashboard: Designed for data-driven users who would like to access more parameters of their vehicles. You can customize up to 8 data items on it.

You could also export your data log from "Settings-Data Log" if you wish to access all the data saved during your last trip.

Safety Center Scan & Clear Error Codes

Tap ”Safety Center” and then tap "Scan" to check your vehicle’s health. Make sure you are connected with the device and the engine is on.

Decode & Clean Error Codes

After the "Scan" is completed, you can clear the codes if detected.

Car Finder & Mileage

Access the Car Finder Feature from the "Last Parking" card on the Timeline page. You can also set a parking meter alert or share your parking location with your friends.

Tap “Mileage” to check your travel records and classify your trips. Label your trips as business or personal with one swipe. Calculate all of your savings automatically and get an IRS Compliant Report when you need it.

FAQ

Why can't the device read my vehicle data?

The ZUS app is supposed to show revs, speed, engine load, coolant temperature, and other data on the Pro Dashboard page when your monitor is connected with the app. 

The device diagnoses and pulls data from the vehicle using OBD II protocols and, as you may or may not know, car manufacturers apply different kinds of OBD II protocols in different makes and models. We are trying our best to develop and test our products to make the device & app compatible with most vehicles; however, we can't guarantee full coverage.

My check engine light is on, but why is the ZUS app scanner not showing any faulty codes?

The Health Monitor reads faulty codes based on world standard OBD-II PIDs, but some manufacturers define many more PIDs specific to their vehicles. Thus, ZUS Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Lite might be not compatible with your car. You may find the incompatible list below:

Why is the Turbo item missing on the Pro Dashboard?

The turbo item isn't available on the nonda vehicle health monitor lite, so we removed the related dashboard items in V6.10.0. The reasoning for this is that it was affecting the receiving frequency of other data, and the turbo data isn’t generated from the vehicle itself but rather is a calculated value from other data items and would not be 100% accurate in most cases, so we have decided not to include it in the app. However, we will keep on investigating the possibility of adding it back to the APP.
